So today Joey and I had an appointment to meet his teacher and go on a little treasure hunt to get acquainted with different areas of the school and his classroom. One of the stations was a math area where each individual student, at separate times, was to guess how many dinosaurs were in the jar. Joey looked at it and guessed 28 and then wrote his answer down on the paper with his name and put it in the basket. I just happened to notice that the other students had written numbers like 4, 8, etc. Then the students were to dump out the dinosaurs and count them ---- Joey was exactly right! I was feeling so proud of how smart he is and how good he is at math.
A few hours later .....
I mention to Joe that he should ask Joey about the dinosaurs at school. Joe asks him about them. Joey then tells him the story of how he "guessed" the right number of dinosaurs. Joe asks him how he could guess so well. Joey then replies, "I heard the other girl count the dinosaurs so I already knew how many were in there."
My other favorite part was how he showed his teacher his back pack and how there was a place for his Ipod headphones. The teacher looked at me and him and let us know that Ipods weren't allowed in school. Just for the record Joey doesn't own an Ipod ....
I just keep wondering what his teacher's first impression must be of Joey and our family.

I love Joey stories. He is a crack-up! Sounds like he has some sensitive ears...be carful what you say :)
LOL! I think Joey will love school!
I think Joey is a smartie! Way to pay attention when it matters...way better than being able to guess right. He's going to be a great Kindergartener!!
These are great stories. But I can tell you he is smart - memorizing family members phone numbers is great.
LOL. I love that story. I'm betting someone will pass their kindergarten hearing test!
