Just the Good Ole Boys

All is well here. My ear aches are gone for the most part. Tommy hasn't been to the RSV clinic in over a week and Joe's ankle is not as swollen. Life is Good!

So BIG

Tommy is growing, growing, growing! I put an outfit on him yesterday that he had just worn last week and it didn't fit at all!

Joey has been saying this week that he and Tommy are the same age -- 6. Tommy is 6 weeks now and Joey is 6 years. Also, Joey has started calling Tommy "T T." I am not sure where he got that little nick name from, but it is cute to hear him use it. I wonder how long it will stick..... The first thing Joey does when he comes in the door from school is ask, "How is Tommy? Is he awake? Did his monitor go off? How many ounces did he drink?"

NFL Wannabes

Joe and Joey were playing football in the backyard on Joe's lunch break on Wednesday. Joe jumped to catch a pass and his foot came down wrong on the curbing around the sand pile. His ankle swelled quickly and it looked like there was a baseball attached. I had to help him get in the house. Joe hopped and put his arms around my shoulders. Joey said, "Dad you look like a real football player with an injury!"

Some TLC, ice, Advil, and an ankle brace have really helped and he is doing much better. It sure does look disgusting!

Yesterday We Almost Moved to Australia

Do you know the story Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day? Lots of bad things happen to Alexander and so he thinks that the solution to all his problems is to move to Australia. Yesterday we were considering it. Well not really .... but between Tommy's RSV and going to the RSV clinic a couple of times yesterday, plus a doctor appointment for Tommy & the Dr. telling me he has double ear infections, plus me having an earache and sinus infection and going to InstaCare, and Joe spraining his ankle ... Australia was sounding pretty good.

Thank goodness today is much better and the sun came out just like Annie sings, "The sun will come out tomorrow." Tommy's congestion is a ton less and feeling better, I am on an antibiotic and am feeling better, Joe is able to get around on his sprained ankle.

Now for some pics of our boys .....

This is right after a bath before I hooked him back up to his monitors and oxygen. Joey is holding Tommy. Joey is always so careful and concerned about him. He is so good to change his shirt right after school and wash his hands. Joey is also often concerned about how much milk Tommy is drinking. He wants to know how many ounces of milk are in his bottle.

By the way Tommy weighed in yesterday at the Dr. a whooping 7 lbs 2 ounces! The Dr. said he is growing like a rocket and he is right.

One Month Old

Tommy is one month old today! YEAH! He weighs in now at a whopping 6 lbs 6 ounces and 19 1/3 inches long. He is growing!!!
The bad news is that he has RSV. It is just another reminder that we can't be too careful during this winter germ infested season.

Miracle Quilt

So between the few short days we had from being picked by our birth mom and Tommy's birth.... I felt an urgency to get a quilt done for our birth mom, Jeni. I had many people help to get it all done! My sister Laura was here helping me pressing and unpicking. My friend Katie took it to the woman who did the machine quilting since we up and left town. Judi, the woman who quilted it did a speedy fabulous job. She blogged about my quilt here (and I am so flattered!!!!) and this is her website Green Fairy Quilts . It was a miracle to get it all done!
