Busy As a Man Can Be ....

Joe was born with out 4 adult teeth ... one on each upper and lower side of his mouth. Weird birth defect eh? His parents had all 4 bridges replaced right before we got married. We are now just realizing what a great gift and blessing this was for us. They should only last about 10 years, but they have lasted almost 16. He started the process a few weeks ago and his jaw has been quite sore the past few weeks.

Anyway, the first permanent bridge was put in yesterday and they started the process for the 2nd one today. After story time at the library Joey and I visited Joe at work today to see how things went. He told me his jaw was sore and they had a hard time getting the bridge out and making the molds. His appointment went longer than expected -- 3 hours instead of 1 1/2 hours. Now most of us would be feeling sorry for Joe at this point, but then he proceeded to tell me how relaxing it was to be in the Dentist chair instead of at work or church which both seem to be very demanding right now. I was speechless. There aren't many people I know that look forward to their time in the dentist chair. Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMM!

It's Always Fun When Grandma and Grandpa Come ....

We had a great weekend with Joe's parent visiting us. They also brought Joey's cousin Emily. They had a grand ole time playing together.

Joey also gave Grandpa a good workout throwing the football.

And for anyone who has ever stayed with us you can thank Sam and Carolyn for our wonderful guest room. They bought the bed for it and this trip they bought something for our bathroom.... So the Bed and Breakfast is still getting upgrades and improvements .... we fill up fast at certain times of the year so make your reservations quick!

Don't Call Us or We'll Call You

This morning Joe and I woke up before 7 AM to the sound of Joey's voice talking to someone on the phone. He had called his Grandparents to see if they had left yet. They are coming to spend the weekend with us. Joey knows both his Grandparent's long distance phone numbers and how to dial them all by himself. He loves to call them and leave messages for them. It seems like the record for him is about 10 phone calls to the same Grandparent in the same day. Thank goodness for flat rate long distance!

I also got a report from my sister Laura that her phone rang this AM at 7:20AM. Both Joe and I were up, but didn't hear Joey call her. He found her number on caller ID and dialed it long distance. Caller ID actually said "Sam" so that is who he thought he was calling -- most likely to chat about Wii Football. Laura was a good sport to humor him.

We made a rule a few months ago that he couldn't call anyone until the sun came up. Well I guess that rule is not a good one anymore since the sun comes up so early. We'll have to come up with a new one.

Anyway, if you need someone to call Joey is always available and again BEWARE if you call us Joey can read your name and number on caller ID and may give YOU a call -- hopefully you will be awake!

Why I Love our Sand Pile

Joey plays for hours on end in our sand pile!
We love that it can be a ...
1. Fire/Police Station
2. Restaurant
3. Construction site
4. School
5. Amazon Jungle
6. River
7. Antarctica (note the snow shovel)
8. Skateboard Park
9. Mountain Biking trail
10. Pirate Ship
11. An archaeological digging site for all sorts of treasures, including lost shoes and flip flops
12. I am sure there are more things it has been, the possibilities are endless

Happy Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend. We had Norm's family in town because his boys were playing in baseball tournaments. There is an awesome splash pad, stream and climbing rocks downtown that the kids played on.

We also did some yard work and planted some trees. Joey was a great helper!

Traitor or just Converted?

Now that my brother-in-law Sam coaches at Orem High School

and I no longer have any siblings at my High School

I think I am now converting to be an Orem Tiger. Joe is so happy! Life just couldn't be better. Joe's 20th reunion is this year and we have sent in our RSVP. It won't matter to me if I get an invitation to my High School reunion because I have no desire to go. I keep in contact with the few people I care about from my high school days. Plus, I guess it is a pride issue because more people from MY high school know Joe than me. If you need proof ask Joe about being in Eddie Bauer with me last October when a woman working there from MY high school recognized HIM and not ME. Need I say more?

Roar! Go Tigers

Run Run Run as Fast as You Can

Matt, Sharon, and Laura

Laura & Sam and Sharon & Matt came and visited us for the weekend. Laura, Sharon & Matt all ran a 10K .

It was a fun weekend even though Joey's soccer team, the Cougars basketball, and the Jazz lost. BOOO!
