Soccer

This is one kid who loves to play soccer.... well any sport. Go JOEY! You had a great game on Saturday!

Little Houdini

Houdini is Tommy's new nickname. It doesn't matter what we do he finds a way to wiggle out of at least one of his arm braces. He is brilliant! :) Yeah! We hit the 2 week mark yesterday and only 2 weeks more of arm braces and lip bow.

Pay it Forward

Ok, so I decided to participate a little blog game called "Pay it forward."

How it works: The FIRST THREE people to leave a comment on this post will receive at some point during this year a gift from ME. What it will be and when it will arrive will be a total surprise. The CATCH is that YOU MUST PLAY TOO! Before you leave your comment here, write a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (you can cut and paste these instructions). Then come back and let me know that you are going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift.

So, to all my family and friends, don't make me feel like a dork. Leave a comment and play along!

I've decided that the gifts I give will be something handcrafted by me. So it might be cookies (if you live close), or something else creative and crafty. It will be a surprise, but I think you will like it.

AlL ThAt JaZz

Joey had an assignment in school to write a sentence about what they were going to do during Spring Break. He wrote this all by himself. Do you think he was excited? Joey and dad already to go to the game

Joey at the Energy Solutions Arena before the game started. Notice he wore a green shirt underneath for St. Patrick's Day. Joey wanted to be sure no one could pinch him.

Tommy Surgery

We are home! Tommy's surgery went well. We had a scare in the post op because he had a hard time breathing, and ended up spending the night in the PICU. He is a fighter and was fine by the morning and was able to be released on Tuesday as planned.

The Brothers the day before surgery

On our way to Primary Children's Hospital

All hospital gowns are the sameWe were the last surgery of the day. We weren't scheduled until 1:30pm. Tommy couldn't have formula past midnight the night before and then only apple juice or pedialite. We haven't been giving him a binky because we found out he couldn't have one after his operation, but the hospital gave us one to help him not be so fussy while waiting for surgery. It worked!
Post OP getting oxygen. He stopped breathing 7 times. Pretty scary for a while. They gave him some drugs to temporarily paralyze his vocal cords and that helped. They had to give him that medication 3 different times in the post op room.

Breathing just fine and in the PICU

Check out the arm braces and the thing around his lip called a bow. He has to wear both for 4 weeks.

Close up of his stitches. Oxygen mask close by just in case. It was never needed in the PICU.

YEAH! Released from the hospital.
